Vietnamese Ganh for ages 7+: Two people, one device: learn pairs, surrounds and openings. Play free right in the browser, no account or install needed.
Vietnamese Ganh is a traditional Vietnamese board game often associated with Quang Nam. Two people sit opposite each other at one device, with eight pieces each on 25 intersections. Move one painted connection to an empty point. Step between an opposing pair to flip it, or surround a group with no empty neighbours to convert it. This version includes mở: after a move without captures, the rival must enter the vacated point to capture a pair if that point lies between two opposing pieces and can be reached. Convert every rival piece or block every legal move to win. Repeating the same board, turn and opening three times, 100 moves without a flip, or 400 moves total ends in a draw. Three saved lessons teach pairs, surrounds and openings. Settings includes the guide and undo. No clock.
